Where words fail, music speaks
— Hans Christian Andersen

I am a small town boy who loves music in almost every form! After a successful high school music career that included becoming a 2 year Iowa All-State trumpeter, I attended Central College in Pella, Iowa where I received a bachelor of arts degree in music education. I am currently the band director at Tri-Center Community Schools in Neola, IA where I teach 5th grade, 6th grade, jr. high, and high school band. I am also the worship music coordinator for the Carson United Methodist Church in Carson, IA. I live in Oakland, IA with my wife Barb, and my adorable daughters, Evelyn and Charlie.

I have several decades of performance experience. I am also a multi-instrumentalist having performed regularly on trumpet, acoustic/electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, and piano. Besides being a solo acoustic musician, I have performed many different musical styles with several different groups including Oreo Meatwagon, The Josh Davis Band, Kentucky Fried Mullet, and The Heroes. Those performances have spanned the midwest from Minnesota to Texas and from Wisconsin to Colorado. Bands I have played with have performed on the same bill as Sister Hazel, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Dishwalla, Asleep at the Wheel, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Jack Ingram, Great White, Head East, and Firehouse.
